Description
Akron, Ohio: The Superior Printing Company. Very Good-. Hardcover. A soiled, aged and edgeworn edition in Very Good- condition ; Queen Elizabeth's life is a story of both greatness and tragedy. Born in 1533, Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. Due to Henry VIII's numerous marriages, Elizabeth was raised in a number of different houses, finally settling in the court of her half-brother, King James I of England. After James I's death, Elizabeth asserted her claim to the English throne and was successful in suppressing any challenges to her rule. Elizabeth's reign was marked by both successes and failures. Her efforts to strengthen the English navy and economy were largely successful, but her conflicts with the Catholic Church and her relationship with her heir, Edward VI, were not. Elizabeth died in 1603 at the age of 88 after a long and successful reign.; 8vo; 223 pages .
