From the library of the artists Ben Shahn and Bernarda Bryson Shahn, with an estate label designed by their son, Jonathan Shahn. Ownership signature of Louise Rosskam. Delano, Ben Shahn, and Edward Rosskam were all FSA photographers. According to the text, after his FSA and military service, Delano was encouraged to come to Puerto Rico by Ed and Louise Rosskam, which he did when he recieved only the second Guggenheim Fellowship in photography (the first had gone to Edward Weston) and where he remained for most of the rest of his life. Presumably Bernarda Shahn got this book from her close friends and neighbors the Rosskams.

About Fine
Description
Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. No binding. About Fine. [Los Angeles; Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, 1943]. Vintage original 8 x 10" (20 x 25 cm.) black-and-white single weight glossy silver gelatin photo. Ink stamp photo number on verso. Minor creasing, about fine. The four acting winners for 1942's Academy Awards are shown together in front of the radio mics after winning their awards at the semi-formal event. At this time, the Best Actor and Actress, James Cagney (for Yankee Doodle Dandy) and Greer Garson (for Mrs. Miniver), were awarded statues, while supporting actors Van Heflin (for Johnny Eager) and Theresa Wright (for Mrs. Miniver) were presented with the plaque versions. Though the Academy had their official photographers, the studios - which basically ran and determined the winners at the time - were allowed to have their own images, too.
