Cloth toned along top edge, lightly foxed along rear joint, lightly bruised at head. Previous owner bookplate to front paste down. Else a lovely copy in a Very Good silver foil dust jacket with price intact, surface scratches and edge wear with chipping at the spine ends and a short tear with an associated crease along the bottom edge of the rear panel. Appel's first book, a proletarian hard boiled novel, published with a fragile silver foil jacket which is difficult to find in presentable condition.
