Very Good in Very Good dj
Description
Los Angeles: Fashion Press. Very Good in Very Good dj. (c.1967). First Edition. Hardcover. (price-clipped) [modest wear to bottom edge, very slight exposure of boards at lower corners, offsetting/discoloration to endpapers (from contact with dust jacket), small bookseller's label (Vroman's, Pasadena) at upper corner of front pastedown; the fragile brown paper jacket is almost completely split along front hinge, and has some very shallow chipping along the top and bottom edges, a small piece missing at the top rear hinge, and a small pull-tear hole in the front panel]. In this self-published memoir, the then-82-year-old author reminisces about his "rags to riches, back to rags and back again to riches" life story -- "a tremendous story, told in vibrant enthusiasm, revealing the saga of a Yale Law School graduate who found his rugged 'first career' in the lumber business of the Pacific Northwest." His early success vanished when the Stock Market crashed, but he moved his family to Pasadena, California, and eventually found a second career in property management. .
