Very good plus.
Description
[N.p., probably Atlanta]: June 24, 1968. Very good plus.. 4pp., mimeographed on loose sheets, paper-clipped. Mild wear. A rare document from inside the Southern Christian Leadership Conference, listing the names and locations of seventy-five paid staff members who were currently on assignment outside the nation's capital. The document is dated June 24, 1968, just over two months after the assassination of SCLC founder Martin Luther King, Jr. The names are listed alphabetically beginning with Victoria Gray Adams in Mississippi and ending with Tommy Wrenn in Birmingham, Alabama, with two other names appended after his. The locations of assignments for the SCLC staff are mainly located in the South, but also range from New York City to Illinois to California. In eight cases, the person's name is followed by a question mark for assigned city, indicating the SCLC headquarters was unaware of the location for those staff members. The present document comes from a moment of transition for the SCLC. Ralph Abernathy took over leadership of the organization following Dr. King's assassination, and the group shifted their focus to smaller campaigns and voter registration drives. The present work came from a collection of SCLC material out of Atlanta once belonging to Hosea L. Williams, the director of the SCLC's Southern Program.

Description
London, 1783 24 mo. Five volumes. Early edition. Finely bound in contemporary tan mottled calf, boards triple-ruled in gilt and spines stamped in gilt, board edges and turn-ins gilt, text block edges gilt, red and blue marbled endpapers; green silk markers in each volume. A near fine set with just some light wear to extremities, most pronounced in Vol. II, two small holes in the leather of Vol. V, bookplate of Philibert Bruys de Gardes to front pastedown of each volume. Overall, a beautiful set. This set includes the complete dramatic works of two noted French dramatists, brothers Pierre and Thomas Corneille. Both were active writers during the 17th century, publishing dozens of works each. Pierre, older than his brother by 19 years, is the better known of the two, and is counted among some of the greatest dramatists of the 17th century, alongside Molière and Racine. His most famous work, the tragicomedy Le Cid (1637), was performed at the Théâtre du Marais in Paris, and was an enormous success, and continues to be regarded as one of the best plays to come out of the 17th century.. Hard Cover. Near Fine.
