Coughlin on a Kluge platen press on Biblio paper. The typeface is Garamond, and the drop caps are Trueheart. One of 10 special copies hand-colored, bound in full scarlet morocco with the title in gilt on the upper board and the Glastonbury Cross in blind. Marbled endpapers. Signed by the printer and the author in the Colophon. A fine copy. Thirteen scenes covering the Age of Arthur in sonnet form. The narrative begins with the boy Merlin, King Vortigern and the dragons, then continues through Uther & Ygraine, the Swords, Lancelot & Guinevere, Mordred and finally the unearthing of Arthur's casket at Glastonbury. .

New York, Vintage Edition, 1961, pp. 306, 332-333. Ebony May, 1965, pp. 134-138. Measures 14" x 11". Large portrait illustration and brief biography of civil rights activist and NAACP leader, Roy Wilkins, who joined as an executive secretary in 1931, starting his long journey in the defense of African American rights until his death in 1981. In 1955, Wilkins took over as the NAACP's director and implemented a strategy designed to get all three branches of the federal government actively working to advance civil rights. In 1963, he helped organize the historic March on Washington and participated in marches in Selma, and Jackson. As director, he lead victories including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 which we see stated towards the end of this biography listed amidst other accomplishments. In 1969, he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by President Lyndon Johnson for his work in civil rights. In the same year, this piece was published in his honor. Overall in very good condition with very minor bending and fading to corners.
