Description
Franfilmdis. No binding. Just About Fine. [Paris]: Franfilmdis, [1946]. Set of three (3) vintage original French 9 1/2 x 11 3/4" (24 x 30 cm.) double weight black-and-white print still photos, just about fine. Director Jean Vigo's featurette from 1933. He previously had only made the short À PROPOS DE NICE. After this film, he directed the feature L'ATALANTE. He died young shortly after that film was completed, and his death was a tragic loss to world cinema. ZÉRO DE CONDUITE is very much the creation of a young person -- a film of rough, anarchistic, explosive energy. Shortly after the film premiered in Paris in 1933, the censors banned it. No original advertising paper from 1933 has ever surfaced. This 1946 general release, for all intents and purposes, must be regarded as the original release. And although posters for it from 1946 do turn up, photos almost never do.

Pale gray cloth, stamped in green. Good
Description
New York: Siegel-Cooper Company, c. 1896. Pale gray cloth, stamped in green. Good. 245 pages. 19.5 x 13.5 cm. Recipes attributed to prominent cookbook authors of the time. Interspersed within the recipes are literary quotes and excerpts. Henry Siegel and Frank Cooper were running a highly successful department store in Chicago during the 1893 World's Columbian Exposition when they envisioned a larger store in New York City. This colossal, steel-framed, Beaux-Arts style structure, was designed by DeLemos & Cordes and at the time it was built it was the largest store in the world. This cookbook features many recipes that were fashionable at the time, but a couple recipes stand out, including a recipes for Opossum, Fricassee of Squirrels (using two squirrels), and how "To Cook a Deer's Head in Camp." Covers worn, internal pages toned, lacking a leaf between title page and preface.

Description
Ludington, MI: The Carrom Company, 1919. First Edition. Very good. First edition presumed, n. d. (ca 1919); 6 x 3 1/2; pp. 1-40; pictorial, off-white wraps; illustrated with drawings and several photographic images; mild age-toning and wear, with a few very minor spots to wraps; very good condition. The Ludington Novelty Company was founded in 1889 by Sunday School teacher Henry L. Haskell. He invented a game - Carroms - with a patented playing board, each one of which was manufactured by hand and was sold before another one was started. In 1902, the Ludington Novelty was merged with another game-manufacturing company with patented playing boards - Illinois-based Archarena Company - and in 1912, the Carrom-Archarena Company became the Carrom Company. The current booklet explained the rules for the various games played on Carrom boards, including Spinette, Ten-Pin Top Game, Crokinola, Travelling Carroms, and many more. It also supplied a price list for extra parts for combination game boards, as well as for matching game table and chairs and for a doll house.
