Mexico City: Imprenta de Antonio Vanegas Arroyo, 1898. About very good.. 30pp. Small quarto. Original printed wrappers, stapled. Wraps faded, with light wear to spine and edges; a few short, closed tears, small chips, etc. Scarce "melodrama biblico," which dramatizes the Cain and Abel story into a short play in two acts. The work was published by the late 19th- and early 20th-century king of the Mexican popular press, Antonio Vanegas Arroyo. The author, Constancio Suarez was almost completely unknown until nearly 100 years after he published this work and another melodrama that follow the story of Isaac as well as a few comedies. An interesting, unillustrated publication, produced in the style of a large chapbook or playscript. OCLC locates only two copies, at Pittsburgh and the University of New Mexico.

Advertises perfumes, compacts, creams, makeup, toiletries, powders, talcums, dental creams, food coloring and flavoring extracts, and even metal polish and mothicide. Each item is illustrated with a brief description, volume, and pricing. Single vol. (8" by 3.5"), pp. 34, illus., stapled in original illus. wrps. "Feminine loveliness is achieved not merely by the use of a chosen perfume, but also by the thoughtful adaptation of other essential toilet requisites" (p. 1). This catalog was produces two years before the introduction of the Avon Product lines.

When an individual shows courage under stress, we feel a thrill at his achiemement, but when a group of men flash out in the splendor of manliness we feel a lasting glow that is both pride and renewed faith in our fellow men. And as a member of such a regiment, for which I feel deep affection, I feel a bond of understanding and fellowship for the American soldier in every place and time, doing his job simply and finely, asking neither sympathy nor praise.
