A collection of 32 postcards and handbills (14 individual and 18 duplicates) mostly promoting California hip-hop, rap, reggae, and gospel artists and venues from the early 2000s. Measuring from 2½" x 4" to 5 x 7". Fine. Notable artists and events include Lil Scrappy (advertising his first album), Ozomatli (die-cut postcard), Blind Boys of Alabama, Beenieman, Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues, and live reggae at St. Marks and 14 Below. Also included are promotional cards for the electronic band The Avalanches (advertising their first album), punk band Fat Lip, and singer Cynthia Basinet. Duplicates are: Little Scrappy (three additional copies), Joseph Israel (six additional copies), Ming and FS (three additional copies), and Otafuku Rex (six additional copies). A modest but interesting collection of material promoting California music in the early 2000s.
