Description
New York: Random House, 1965. First edition and first printing. Hardcover. 373 pages. Widley considered one of Matthiessen's best novels which was also made into a movie with Tom Berenger, John Lithgow and Kathy Bates. A clean and tight near fine copy in two tone cloth boards with bright orange topstain and in a very good dust jacket with a chunk missing from the top of the spine, a few small tears to the top of the front panel and some needless tape repairs to the verso. Despite the flaws a pleasing copy of this classic.
