Uncommon documentation of this landmark project, with single OCLC record located (SFMoMA).. Large commemorative certificate (16.5 x 10.75 inches), featuring a mounted facsimile of a Beuys drawing (3.5 in. square); SIGNED and dated by Wenzel Beuys in ink (18.6.1986), with red FIU hand-stamp. A retroactive certificate from Joseph Beuys' landmark 7000 Eichen action; this one commemorating the donation of one of the first wave of trees from the daughter of avant-garde gallerist Alfred Schmela. Beuys began the project at documenta 7 (1982), with his son Wenzel planting the (posthumous) 7000th oak tree during documenta 8 in 1987.

(1) G-M. 4696 (Friedreich): Friedreich was the first to describe a form of ataxia ("Friedreich's ataxia"), hereditary, attended with impairment of speech, lateral curvature of the spine, and with paralysis of the muscles of the lower limbs. The titles of the last two papers vary. (2) G.-M. 3270 (Gerhardt): An important study of paralysis of the vocal chords was made by Gerhardt. He diagnosed the growth in the larynx of Friedrich III, Emperor of Germany, whose eventual death from this condition was to have such disastrous effects on German history.
