London: Longmans, Green, and Co, 1902. First edition. Hardcover. Near fine. 8vo. xiv, 384pp. Blue cloth decorated in gilt on the spine and upper board in a design by H. J. Ford and with Ford's initials at the lower right of the upper board. Decorated endpapers by Ford. All edges gilt. Illustrated with eight full page color plates as well as numerous black and white full page plates. Wear to the edges and hinges, occasional darkening from age, but a very good copy. Inscription op a preliminary blank: "Thomas W. Othmer, From the Rev. James J. Cameron, Skagway, Alaska, Nov. 7, 1902." Five of the color plates and seventeen of the black and white plates refer to the story of King Arthur. Of the 19 tales contained, 14 of them refer to the Arthurian tale. The remainder include Robin Hood, Grettir the Strong, WIlliam Short Nose and Wayland the Smith. .
