Description
New York - Paris: privately printed, 1948. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Irene A. Bashkiroff-Valira was an emigre from the Russian Revolution who fled to Paris and then found her way to Manhattan. From there she ended up with a farm in Litchfield County, Connecticut; from her experiences there she composed this hilarious "story in illustrations" of the international sophisticate coping with rural life. Camp, really. Large 4to, pictorial covers, in uncommon dustjacket.
