A remarkably well preserved copy of this novel, in the original jacket; uncommon in this condition, rare indeed signed. This copy is in near fine condition with some mild fading to the spine lettering, light rubbing to the edges, and a bookseller small sticker to the rear pastedown; housed in a clean and bright near fine dust jacket that shows some minor toning to the spine and back panel, light rubbing to the edges and corners, and a couple of short closed tears, one to the spine head and one to the bottom front panel. Overall, a highly presentable and collectible copy; this title rarely found in the first trade edition signed directly to the book. Not remaindered, not price-clipped (no price to front flap), not ex-library; in a protective Mylar cover and will ship securely wrapped in a sturdy box.

Boucard's address on the Isle of Wight stamped to title page, with a number stamped above the publishing date. 'Field Columbian Museum Library' embossed to same (this appears to be the only library marking). Interior appears otherwise clean. Gutter partially exposed at p. 79. Very good minus overall.
