Vitemberg: Georg. Marcum Knochium, 1725. SECOND EDITION. Title in red and black. With 48 leaves of plates. In a contemporary full calf binding dated 1729 in blind on the back cover. Overall in excellent condition, with only minor wear. Second edition, greatly enlarged with over 100 additional text pages and illustrations. This early encyclopaedia of science is Weidler’s most important work, of significant value for its abundance of data and details in each area of science. Among the subjects covered include: arithmetic, geometry, plane trigonometry, optics, perspective, spherical trigonometry, spherical and dynamical astronomy, geography (on the sphere), chronology, dialling, mechanics, hydrostatics, hydraulics, civil and military architecture, fortifications, and mathematical analysis concluding with differential and integral calculus. The work is notable for Weidler’s method of stating, defining, and presenting results, or answers to problems. The format was typical of the Continental approach to education. Thus, because it is one of the best examples of its kind, this book is of great value to today’s scholar. Weidler (1691-1755) held the chair of mathematics at the University of Wittenberg, was a Fellow of the Royal Society, and wrote many esteemed books on scientific subjects. His most notable was the first general bibliography of astronomy as well as the first complete history of astronomy (see Houzeau & Lancaster, 11 and 86, and Lalande, pp. 414 and 458).

Description
Santa Clara, California: RDO/Publications, 1985 Limited edition (Volume 48 in the Great World Series Program Collection). One of 1,000 numbered copies, possible "out of series" copy with "RDO" in place of a number. Signed by Joe DiMaggio and Tommy Henrich on front wrapper. With CAS Certificate of Authenticity. Publisher's red wrappers, with Grant Powers illustration to front wrapper, lettered in white and black, and Lucky Strike advertisement to rear wrapper. Fine, with a touch of wear to corners, and a tiny nick to left edge of rear panel. With laid in photos of DiMaggio and Henrich signing the program. Also with laid in reprint of 1937 Yankees team photo and Daily News headline from when the Yankees won the world series. Overall, a great copy signed by two legendary members of the Yankees. As this program states: "With the exception of this title page, and the section entitled Commentary (courtesy Fred Lieb), this publication is an exact reproduction of the 1937 World Series Program sold at Yankee Stadium, New York for the 1937 games between the New York Yankees and the New York Giants." In the 1937 World Series, the Yankees defeated the Giants for the second straight year, four games to one. In the series, DiMaggio batted .273, and hit an important solo home run in game five to help the team clinch victory. Joe DiMaggio played all thirteen seasons of his career with the New York Yankees and was selected as an All-Star thirteen times. With his exemplary hitting and fielding (he was nicknamed "The Yankee Clipper" because of how he sailed around the outfield) he helped power the Yankees to nine World Series titles. He holds the record for the longest hitting streak, at 56 games, which is considered one of the most statistically remarkable records in all of sports. Outside of baseball, he was known for his high-profile marriage with Marilyn Monroe. DiMaggio was one of the rare athletes that transcended his sport: his association with a bygone era of America was noted in Simon and Garfunkel's Grammy Award-winning song, "Mrs. Robinson." Ted Williams said, "His career cannot be summed up in numbers and awards. It might sound corny, but he had a profound impact on the country." Playing his entire major league career with the Yankees (1937-1942, 1946-1950), Tommy Henrich was a 5-time All-Star and 5-time World Series champion. A standout World Series performer (his nicknames were "The Clutch" and "Old Reliable"), he had two all-time World Series moments: reaching first base on a dropped third strike in Game 4 of the 1941 World Series, which completely turned the tide of the game and series, and hitting the first ever walk-off home run in a World Series game (Game 1 of the 1949 World Series against the Brooklyn Dodgers). . Signed. Limited Edition. Original Wrappers. Fine.

Description
Los Angeles: X Artists' Books, 2022. Hardcover. VG/VG: Small black ink stain in the yellow letters of 'Becoming' on the cover. Otherwise in excellent condition, with clean pages and tight binding.. Color printed fabric over boards with yellow text down a mostly gray spine. When opened, there are two books that open opposite, with a matte softcover front cover and then the boards as the back covers. Unpaginated. Profusely illustrated with a majority of color and black-and-white images. "Amir Zaki has created a sculptural monograph with no singular entry or exit. The book is a double gatefold, having three spines, which opens to a full width of roughly 40 inches. The erstwhile skateboarder brings multiple series into focus for this book, including rocks, carvings, suspended landscapes, and hyper-realist California beach architecture, which like his skateparks (also included), are uncannily quiet and devoid of people. An interview with curator and arts writer Corrina Peipon brings Zaki's history and concerns about photography and technology to the fore."

Description
Geneve: Skira / MASILugano, 2016. Hardcover. VG. Ex-library, minimaly marked and cleaned. Some sticker residue on cover and spine and one remaining sticker inside rear paste down.. Quarto. Hardcover. Illustrated boards. No jacket as issued. 245 pages : illustrations (some color), portraits ; 29 cm. A leading representative of the Russian avant-garde, 'Alexander Rodchenko' (1891-1956) revolutionized the world of graphic art, design and photography. The over 250 illustrations featured in this volume allow the reader to grasp the full force of this innovator and to appreciate the charisma he exerted on fellow artists as much as on the men of letters, directors and intellectuals who shared his path. To this day, the style of Rodchenko the photographer, marked by unusual perspectives, sharp angles and diagonals, stands as the purest witness not just to the talent of an artist but to his eagerness to modernise art and the world at large. Complementing the volume are contributions by Olga Sviblova, the director of the House of Photography / Multimedia Art Museum of Moscow, by the grandson of the artist and leading scholar of his work Alexander Lavrentiev, in addition to writings and testimonies by Rodchenko himself and his daughter Varvara.
