Farwell & Co., 32 Congress Street, Boston. 16mo (6 ½" x 4 7/8"); 79pp; olive ribbed cloth over board, gilt-stamped ornaments and lettering, front and rear; pale yellow endpapers, lacking ffep; gift inscription in pencil dated 1876; wood-engraved fp with tissue guards + 3 additional plates; some light damp staining, scattered foxing and some hand soiling; very good minus. A mid-19th century children's gift book with short stories and poetry. The first story begins with a mention of a Temperance meeting. Other stories are about train travel in the Allegheny mountains, the death of a Grandfather, a wedding, and a bird's nest.
