Includes a photo frontspiece by the author and a few illustrations by Ralph Mocine. Original brown paper-covered boards, title printed in re on upper cover. Very good. One of 1000 copies numbered and signed by the author with an added inscription by her on the flyleaf. Matthews (b.1866) was a prolific writer of short stories. The stories concern the Sonoratown which was the first barrio in Los Angeles. Matthew was a reformer and worked actively with southern California immigrant communities.
