Beadle is one of the great figures in the history of modern genetics, and with E. L. Tatum, Beadle was awarded half of the 1958 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine (along with Joshua Lederberg) for their discovery that genes act by regulating definite chemical events. Horowitz was a colleague of Beadle at Caltech.

Record of "a motor journey through the wine country of France, and adventure devoted chiefly to Bordeaux and Burgundy" (from the jacket flap). Gladys Bronwyn Stern (1890-1973) was the author of more than a dozen novels and short story collections. Clean and sound in pale green cloth-covered boards, decorated in yellow and oxblood. In an attractively designed dust jacket, with an illustration by "Herbert...?" printed in red, green, black, and yellow. Some small edge chips to dust jacket, and some color bleeding visible on the verso of the jacket. Still, near fine, in a very good dust jacket.

Very good. This photo album has 18 pages and 92 total B&W photographs. The photos contain images of old cars and the vast nature of the Midwest. It has photos of a man posing along the roadside sights and standing in front of more nature. There are photos of the construction of Mt. Rushmore, where the workers are seen suspended in the air working on the faces. Other photos show a cowboy doing tricks on his horse and a group shot of Boots & Saddle Club Rapid City. The album measures 12 ” x 8” and the photos range from approximately 4½” x 2¾” to 5½” x 3¾”.
