St. Louis: The Antikamnia Chemical Company, 1899. The St. Louis pharmacist and physician Louis Crusius was an artist by avocation who created gruesomely humorous medical caricatures for display in the family drugstore. He sold designs to the Antikamnia Chemical Company, a maker of patent medicines, which published them in a series of 5 advertising calendars which were distributed as holiday keepsakes between 1897 and 1901. All are now rare with OCLC listing copies at SUNY Buffalo, Delaware and Brown. In fine condition.

ALS. Three pages. In the second letter Caputo writes in detail about his financial situation upon the publication of his first book, *A Rumor of War*. 3. TLS. One page. The third letter concerns itself with further details of Caputo's finances, with which he encloses the three pages of Xeroxed financial calculations. 4. Typed Manuscript Signed. The first poetry typescript is about Vietnam, entitled *The Walking Dead: Infantry column during the monsoon, DaNang, 1965*. 5. Typed Manuscript Signed. Description
Shawnee, OK, 1920. Two broadsides, each 12.5 x 8.25 inches. Minor toning, foxing, and edge wear, each with soft horizontal fold near bottom. Very good. An unrecorded pair of promotional documents advertising plots of land in the "Pride of Highland Allotment," a "Beautiful Addition" on the west side of Shawnee, Oklahoma. The land on offer belongs to John Kasmeier, proprietor of the Little Pride of Highland Farm located a mile west of Shawnee. Uncommonly, these plots are being offered by Reverend Father Blaise Harischabalet, Priest of the nearby St. Benedict's Church. Reverend Harischabalet provides details on the available land, the advantages of Shawnee for business, some demographics on the town, and an offer of a free allotment of land in his circular letter titled, "A Splendid Opportunity." The price for the plots ranged from $75 to $150 for "the best corner lots." The circular is accompanied by a plat map of the available lots from Highland Avenue down to Kasmeier Avenue, with about equal portions of land available on each side of the Missouri, Kansas and Teas Railroad line. We fail to locate any other examples of these informative documents offering prime land in Shawnee, Oklahoma in the early 20th century for a development that was apparently never built.

Description
[Berkeley: Berkeley Political Poster Workshop, 1970]. Original illustrated poster, silkscreened in black on white, repurposed computer listing paper with perforated tractor strips, measuring ca.38cm x 56cm (15" x 22"). A Fine copy / A. A simple, powerful anti-war image by an uncredited Berkeley student. The image is reproduced from a 1968 AP photograph of the bodies of US Marines on Hill 689 in Khe Sanh, South Vietnam. The poster "is an indirect invocation of the political order in the United States, and, for those who remember, a reminder that both Lyndon Johnson (in 1964) and Richard Nixon (in 1968) won the presidency with promises of peace - which were then contradicted by their actions..." (Benson, Thomas W. Posters for Peace: Visual Rhetoric and Civic Action). One of some 600+ designs created by Berkeley student members of the Political Poster Workshop in 1970; on average, fewer than 100 copies of each design were printed for distribution on and around campus. Not individually listed in OCLC, though we note copies held at Yale and Penn State. WILLIAMS 28.
