SCARCE regimental history from WW I. 466 pages illustrated with maps, charts, illustrations and portraits, including fold-out maps and fold-out Regiment photos. Very Good Minus, front hinge cracked, top corner creases first few pages, gilt lettering at spine a bit dulled still quite legible, light rubbing to cloth. The Thirtieth "Old Hickory" Division became famous as the first to break the Hindenburg Line on September 29th, 1918, ultimately leading to the end of the War just 40 days later..

A very charming book for children introducing them to famous composers and musicians in story form. Each chapter is introduced by a rhyming verse. In introducing the chapter on the Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn the chapter starts "Said Papa Haydn, 'Though I roam. / I'll always remember singing at home, / In Vienna I learned to sing / And play on almost everything!'" Illustrated throughout by Violet Moore Higgins (1886-1967), a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago, she was also a writer and cartoonist.
