New York: Simon and Schuster, 1957. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. First edition. Small quarto: 308 pp. Inscribed and Signed by the author in neat ink on the front pastedown: "For Eleanor and Peter, With love, Lettie, January 17, 1957." Very good with some soiling and sunning to the extremities, in a good dustwrapper with some light foxing and scattered stains to the inside and outer panels, and a few small tears at the edges. Peter Taylor was one of America's best short story writers, and winner of the 1987 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction and the 1985 PEN/Faulkner Award.

Later printing of this attractively bound book. A story for older girls overlaid with a religious theme.
