Identités. Journal Littéraire. No. 1 (June 1962) through No. 13/14 (Winter/Spring 1966) (all published)

Description
A complete run of 14 issues in 11 fascicules of the French literary journal, each issue 4-8 pp., under the editorial direction of Marcel Alocco with assistance from Jean-Pierre Charles for several issues, each issue featuring prose and poetry from a variety of contributors including Jean-Pierre Charles, Frédérique Laghet, Richard Laszlo, Jean-François Maure, Daniel Karm, Albert Carlin, Marcel Alocco, Régine Lauro, Jacques Belmans, Daniel Reynaud, Jean Pastureau, Serge Bec, and others. Not illustrated. Some minor scattered soiling, toning, small marginal tears. Tabloid. Self-wrpps. Nice/Aix-en-Provence 1962-1966. Marcel Alocco is a well-known painter, writer, and poet, who founded Identités in 1962 with Jean-Pierre Charles and Régine Aizertin-Robin. He published several other journals as well, including Caprices (1960-1961) and the Fluxus serial Open (1967-1968), and various collections of poetry and essays. The title for this journal was taken from a poem by Paul Eluard from his collection "Cours Naturel". In 1965 and 1966 an "Identités" association was founded to support activities related to the publication, and was responsible for producing several theater and poetry performances. It was one of the very few journals to cover the works of cutting edge conceptualist artists George Brecht and John Cage. Complete runs are scarce; as of February 2018, WorldCat locates several holdings of the reprinted edition in North America and three incomplete runs of the original 1960's printing.
