Very Good binding/Very Good dust jacket. 8vo.; in the publisher’s green cloth with dustjacket; 196 pages, including the Index; the dustjakcet has a closed tear and minor chipping; it has not been price-clipped; there is a previous owner signature on the endpaper and a gift inscription on the half-title page.~~This copy has several letters laid in: an eight page, six pagen and three page als from the author Mr. Swem, to Joseph Fields concerning Field’s research into the Washingtons along with copy of Fields’ typed replies. The book concerns letters between Peter Collinson and John Custis of Williamsburg on plants and gardening. A copy of the prospectus is also laid in. On the pastedown the Joseph Fields’ attractive bookplate, which has a facsimile of George Washington’s signature. Very Good binding / Very Good dust jacket.
