Description
Marina del Rey: First American Films, 1978. Draft script for the 1978 film. Copy belonging to actor Dick Miller, with his name on the front wrapper and title page, and his manuscript ink annotations throughout. Missing seven pages, likely as used or issued. Screenwriter Stephanie Rothman worked as one of two female directors (the other being Barbara Peeters) at Roger Corman's New World Pictures, most notably directing the films "The Student Nurses" (1970) and "Terminal Island" (1974). Rothman was initially intended to direct "Starhops," but executives at Dimension Pictures chose to drastically rewrite the script and hire Peeters as director instead, leading Rothman to remove her name from the script. The script on offer here is solely authored by Rothman. Set and shot on location in Venice Beach. Blue titled wrappers. Title page present, with credits for screenwriter Stephanie Rothman. 108 leaves, with last page of text numbered 105. Xerographic duplication, rectos only. Pages and wrapper Very Good plus, with faint foxing to the final leaf and light rusting to the binding, bound internally with a silver prong.

Description
Syracuse: Keramic Studio Publishing Co, 1923. Staplebound. VG-: All issues have wear to the edges and corners, with some small tears. All issues have slight smudging and staining to the wraps. All issues have slight tanning and foxing to the margins of the pages. All issues have clear plates and illustrations and all pages are present. Several issues are more worn than others, with larger tears and rips along the edges, and the covers may be detached but they are laid on. Most issues have very solid binding (the exceptations are those with the covers that ripped off). Various small differences for each magazine (for example, March 1923 has two small stickers in the upper right corner; April 1920 has perforation stamps on the front cover and in the margins of some pages/plates; March 1918 has two loose pages laid in.) The majority of this collection is in really great condition for their age and use. Majority clear pages and plates.. Fifty-two issues of staplebound magazines of the same size, orientation, and general cover layout, but with differing colors (some are light green, some are light yellow, some are gray). Each magazine has approximately thirty to forty pages and is illustrated in both black-and-white and in color. Pages are numbered consecutivly through a year (so April of 1910 has pages 249 to 272, excluding roman numeral introductory pages). Issues included are: March 1923, April 1923; March 1922, February 1922; March 1920, April 1920; February 1918, March 1918, May 1918; January 1917, February 1917, June 1917, October 1917; January 1916, February 1916, March 1916, April 1916, May 1916, July 1916, August 1916, September 1916, October 1916, November 1916; March 1915, May 1915, June 1915, July 1915, August 1915, September 1915, October 1915, November 1915, December 1915; February 1914, March 1914, April 1914, May 1914, June 1914, July 1914, August 1914, September 1914, October 1914, November 1914; December 1913; February 1911, June, July, August, October 1911; January 1910, and April 1910.

Bound in red paper over boards with spine backed in black and lettered in gilt. Pages are clean and unmarked. Binding is sound. ABOUT THIS BOOK: “Engrossing . . . Wilkerson masterfully weaves these threads of love, loss and legacy [into] a thoroughly researched and beautifully imagined family saga.”—The New York Times When ten-year-old Ebby Freeman heard the gunshot, time stopped. And when she saw her brother, Baz, lying on the floor surrounded by the shattered pieces of a centuries-old jar, life as Ebby knew it shattered as well. The crime was never solved—and because the Freemans were one of the only Black families in a particularly well-to-do enclave of New England—the case has had an enduring, voyeuristic pull for the public. The last thing the Freemans want is another media frenzy splashing their family across the papers, but when Ebby’s high profile romance falls apart without any explanation, that’s exactly what they get. So Ebby flees to France, only for her past to follow her there. And as she tries to process what’s happened, she begins to think about the other loss her family suffered on that day eighteen years ago—the stoneware jar that had been in their family for generations, brought North by an enslaved ancestor. But little does she know that the handcrafted piece of pottery held more than just her family’s history—it might also hold the key to unlocking her own future. In this sweeping, evocative novel, Charmaine Wilkerson brings to life a multi-generational epic that examines how the past informs our present.(Publisher).
