Square 8vo; in the publisher’s coarse linen weave cloth binding, with pictorial onlay to the upper board; 26 unnumbered pages with illustrations on the rectos, text on the facing page; with the English translation of the text in a pocket in the back cover; this is number 9 of 40 copies, signed by illustrator Ursula Arndt; colophon is dated 1969.~~The text are poems which together make “Kashubian Carol”; the stanzas making the case that if the Christ Child had been born in Kashubia he would have been well nurtured and taken care of; the colophon has an engraved date of 1969.~~With a laid in additional engraved title page.~~A charming book, apparently issued with a slipcase which is not present; however, the book is housed in a bespoke drop-back box, clad in tan linen, with a morocco label, lined in marbled papers. Fine binding.
