This work is divided into four parts: recipes; family cleanser and dyer; family medicine; and new theory of washing. Includes recipes for various cleaning fluids. Soiled throughout, and with some damp-staining and dog-ears, but text block is sound. Six cm. diagonal tear to title page, just affecting the text of the publisher's statement. In publisher's printed blue wrapper, with same diagonal tear to lower left corner of front panel. Heavily soiled and worn. Good only. Early ownership inscription to title page of "Anna M. Bigelow". [OCLC locates twenty-two copies of all printings; Cagle 710; Lowestein 498; not in Bitting].
