Description
[Salt Lake City], 1884. 30pp. Octavo [21.5 cm] Blue printed wrappers. Near fine. Ink smudge on cover with numbers in ink at foot and head. Covers and contents are bright. Originally published in Nineteenth Century, a magazine published in London, England, vol. 15 under title: A new view of Mormonism. Uncommon, for the ear, a pro-Mormon work from an English gentile and member of British Parliament. After Barclay's positive trip to the Territory, he felt compelled to write this glowing work. Begins with a brief description of the early history of Mormonism and some of its tenants. "Mr. James W Barclay an English member Parliament has been publishing his impressions of the Mormons in the Nineteenth Century and they are highly favorable. He maintains moreover that the hostility to the Mormons among Americans Is in the inverse ratio of knowledge of them. The further east he went the greater he found it He was deeply moved by the wonders wrought in Utah valley by Mormon industry and the beauty and comfort of Utah villages compared to the ordinary western settlements elsewhere." - Salt Lake Herald (01/17/1884). Flake/Draper 301.

Description
Washington DC: Federal Burerau of Investigation, [1970]. Folio broadsheet, 16" x 10-1/2". Offset lithograph, printed in black on uncoated white stock. Old folds; faint stains, soil; complete and about Very Good. Original FBI "Wanted" flyer for Leo Burt, the so-called "Ghost of Wisconsin," who was indicted in absentia for the 1970 bombing of a University of Wisconsin laboratory building, resulting in the death of one graduate researcher and injury to several others. Claiming to be retaliating for the Kent State massacre, Burt and three con-conspirators allegedly used a fertilizer bomb to destroy Sterling Hall on the UW campus in August, 1970, apparently not realizing that the building was occupied at the time. Burt and an accomplice, David Fine, fled to Canada to avoid arrest; Fine was finally apprehended in 1976, but Burt has managed to evade capture ever since, his whereabouts unknown. His story has been featured in a number of television specials, including a 2007 episode of "America's Most Wanted," making him something of a legendary figure in the annals of American underground radical protest.
