This is the report of the Court of Inquiry, whose President was Gideon Pillow; its Recorder was Robert Anderson. The Court concludes that the "movements of Col. Riley's brigade had an important influence in the achievement of that brilliant victory, that Col. Riley had an active participation in them, and that his conduct and that of his command should be suitably noticed in the Official Report of his superiors.
