Margaret Widdemer (1884-1978) was an American poet and novelist. She gained recognition for her literary works during the early to mid-20th century. Widdemer received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1919 for her collection "The Old Road to Paradise," making her one of the few women poets to have received this prestigious award. Apart from her success in poetry, Margaret Widdemer also wrote novels and children's books. Some of her notable works include "The Rose-Garden Husband" and "Why Not?" She explored various themes in her writings, ranging from love and nature to social issues. The Factories, With Other Lyrics is Margaret's first book.
