Basis for the 1965 David Lean epic which featured Omar Sharif, Julie Christie, Geraldine Chaplin, Rod Steiger, Tom Courtenay, Siobhan McKenna, Ralph Richardson, and Alec Guinness. The film won five Oscars, and was nominated for five more, including Best Picture.
