Provides fodder for White supremacy in America with statements such as "What we call the Caucasian race ... is the original primeval race, the most perfect form of physical beauty, symmetry and proportion--the crowning work of creation" (p.18). Includes a brief annual report of the society in the back of the volume, and list of officers. Single vol. (8.5" by 5.75"), pp. 32, [2], original printed goldenrod wrps. Ink ownership inscription of Rev. N. Bouter dated April 1878. Harlow S. Orton (1817-1895) was an American lawyer and judge who served on the Wisconsin Supreme Court from 1878 until his death.
