"Although best-known for his Exposition (1754), Béthizy also clarified, expanded and revised some of Rameau's ideas and formulated several of his own. D'Alembert and Béthizy quarrelled over Rameau's theories in the Journal oeconomique following the publication of d'Alembert's Elémens in 1752.
