Description
Small folio (13 1/4" x 10"), leather spine and corners with cloth, gilt title on top cover and spine, illustrated with 35 colored maps. Top cover and part of spine partially detached, wear and scuffing to spine and extremities, bookplate on front endpaper, endpapers are partially glued to pastedowns, slight aging and a little corner staining, but internally bright and clean. While Zell's maps don't have the decorative style of other map makers of this period, they are attractive and technically quite good. The double page map of the United States is nicely done.

Description
New York: Hawthorn Books, Inc, 1968. First Edition. Paperback. Near fine. Signed by Vice President Spiro T. Agnew, the first edition of his campaign biography, Where He Stands: The Life and Convictions of Spiro T. Agnew.. Octavo, vii, [3], 116p. Illustrated paperback. Appears unread. Trace of shelf wear to covers. This copy is signed on the frontispiece portrait with "Best Regards / Spiro T. Agnew." Spiro Agnew (1918-1996) served as Vice President of the United States from 1969 until 1973, when he was forced from public office for accepting kickbacks from contractors. The scheme began when Agnew was the Baltimore County Executive, continued when he became the Governor of Maryland in 1966, and escalated when he became Vice President in 1968. The scheme fell apart in early 1972 when United States Attorney George Beall opened an investigation into corruption in Baltimore County, with whispers that Agnew may be involved. The story went public in 1973, with Agnew quickly losing support within the Nixon administration and ultimately resigning on October 10th.
