The final two illustrations are comprised of advertisements. 8vo, 195 x 130 mm., bound in original red and black typographic wrappers in a new red cloth folding box. Milano: Edizioni Futuriste di "Poesia," 1919. First edition of this influential work of Futurist typographic expression, which Robert Johnson calls "the major typographical masterpiece of the futurist movement." The folding plates present the most famous of all parole in libertà. A nice copy, though a few gatherings have come loose in the back, inscribed by Marinetti. Rübsamen was a distributor for Carl Zeider's merchandise. Small piece of top corner on front wrapper and first leaf missing. Minor age wear, creasing and sunning on wraps. Few finger smudges on margins of few leaves. Wraps in good-, interior in overall very good condition. Scarce.

A finely produced 12mo valentine, made from decorated papers peeking through gilt lace paper, and an embossed, chromolithographed Victorian scrap depicting a bouquet of wildflowers. On the second bifolium leaf is a chromolithographed scrap with lines of verse titled "Messenger of Love": Haste, messenger of love, and fly Unto the one that holds my heart, And this reply unto her sigh, Oh! tenderly impart; 'I know no mortal shrine but her, And she no fonder worshipper'." A very bright, well-preserved example. Possibly produced by the valentine maker Whitney Co. (red stamp to lower leaf verso?). Bifolium measuring 4.75" by 3.5
