Description
Tafelberg-Uitgewers, 1960. BARLOW, Arthur G. THAT WE MAY TREAD SAFELY. Cape Town: Tafelberg-Uitgewers, 1960. 8vo., red cloth in dust jacket. First Edition. Barlow was one of South Africa's most colorful political impresarios and a huge supporter of apartheid- one of the subjects of this book. Signed inscription by Barlow on the front endpaper: "With the compliments of the Author." Above the inscription, Rhodesian politician and Prime Minister Sir Roy Welensky has penned his name in ink. Welensky was an extremely important figure in the politics of Rhodesia and a bit more liberal than Barlow. A nice association copy! Very Good (light foxing top edge & little bowing covers; contents clean & tight); moderate edgewear (small chips & tears, little browning) d/j. $150.00.
