Illustrated maroon buckram boards with gilt and blind-stamped lettering on the front cover and spine. Decorative endpapers. The work is a visual survey of rug designs produced in the Turkmen SSR (now Turkmenistan). The book contains a total of 55 plates of color photographic reproductions of the rugs, organized by design styles. Each plates is protected by a tissue guard and has a short printed caption underneath in Russian. The back of the book includes a table of contents. Text in Russian. Binding with light rubbing and bumping to extremities. Endpapers with some light creasing. Binding a bit shaky with starting at the title page, with some of the first pages already loose or disbound, but present. Creasing to a few of the tissue guards. Light smudges on the title page. Binding and interior in overall good+ condition. * Alternate title: Kovry Turkmenskoi SSR.
