Description
Los Angeles: X Artists' Books, 2022. Hardcover. VG/VG: Small black ink stain in the yellow letters of 'Becoming' on the cover. Otherwise in excellent condition, with clean pages and tight binding.. Color printed fabric over boards with yellow text down a mostly gray spine. When opened, there are two books that open opposite, with a matte softcover front cover and then the boards as the back covers. Unpaginated. Profusely illustrated with a majority of color and black-and-white images. "Amir Zaki has created a sculptural monograph with no singular entry or exit. The book is a double gatefold, having three spines, which opens to a full width of roughly 40 inches. The erstwhile skateboarder brings multiple series into focus for this book, including rocks, carvings, suspended landscapes, and hyper-realist California beach architecture, which like his skateparks (also included), are uncannily quiet and devoid of people. An interview with curator and arts writer Corrina Peipon brings Zaki's history and concerns about photography and technology to the fore."

VG. Ex-library, minimaly marked and cleaned. Some sticker residue on cover and spine and one remaining sticker inside rear paste
Description
Geneve: Skira / MASILugano, 2016. Hardcover. VG. Ex-library, minimaly marked and cleaned. Some sticker residue on cover and spine and one remaining sticker inside rear paste down.. Quarto. Hardcover. Illustrated boards. No jacket as issued. 245 pages : illustrations (some color), portraits ; 29 cm. A leading representative of the Russian avant-garde, 'Alexander Rodchenko' (1891-1956) revolutionized the world of graphic art, design and photography. The over 250 illustrations featured in this volume allow the reader to grasp the full force of this innovator and to appreciate the charisma he exerted on fellow artists as much as on the men of letters, directors and intellectuals who shared his path. To this day, the style of Rodchenko the photographer, marked by unusual perspectives, sharp angles and diagonals, stands as the purest witness not just to the talent of an artist but to his eagerness to modernise art and the world at large. Complementing the volume are contributions by Olga Sviblova, the director of the House of Photography / Multimedia Art Museum of Moscow, by the grandson of the artist and leading scholar of his work Alexander Lavrentiev, in addition to writings and testimonies by Rodchenko himself and his daughter Varvara.
