Description
New York: Published by John F. Henry & Co., 24 College Place, 1882. Booklet, stapled in wrappers ( 16.4 x 12.4 cm.), [16] unnumbered leaves. Illustrated. Title and imprint from chromolithograph wrapper; a calendar for 1883 is printed on the back of the wrapper. A little promotional cookery almanac from the patent medicine firm of John F. Henry & Co. of New York City. Recipes are mixed with advertisements for proprietary remedies including: Oxygenated Bitters, Kellinger's Infallible Ointment, and Scovill's Blood and Liver Syrup. Much of the book consists of testimonials and praise for these remedies with recipe pages here and there for Charlotte Russe, and Lobster salad. Internally clean and sound, but for a few small spots of foxing to margins. In publisher's color lithographed wrappers, depicting a housewife working in the kitchen. Some light soiling to wrappers, otherwise near fine, and with a short pink cord for hanging. [OCLC locates five copies of this annual issue].
