Description
New York: Story Press, 1944. First Edition. Paperback. Vol. XXIV, No. 106. 104 pp. Bound in publisher's wraps. Near Fine with tiny staple hole in front wrap, a few spots of wear along spine and gutter but generally very bright an clean. An excellent copy of the hard-drinking American poet and novelist's first trade publication, probably following a 1940 literary magazine called Write, of which no known copies exist. He was 24 at the time. After many letters exchanged with Whit Burnett, the editor published this story in the end papers of his widely-read, but poorly-paying journal.
