Small octavo (19cm); original dust jacket over green cloth-covered boards with white lettering to spine; [viii],126pp. Price-clipped jacket shows a few chips and tears along edges with moderate to heavy smudging; front flap nearly separated along fold. Boards lightly shelfworn with a bump to bottom corner, some fading to spine, and nudging at head and tail. Pages a bit toned but unmarked. Small bookseller's ticket (partially removed) for The Drama Shop, Inc. of New York City on rear pastedown. Binding is sound. Basis for the 1942 film Life Begins at Thirty-Eight, itself notable as F. Scott Fitzgerald's final screenwriting assignment, though the extent of his contributions to the script before his death in December 1940 are unclear and he remains uncredited in the final film.
