Cream illustrate wraps. Very good
Description
Youngwood, PA: Robertshaw Thermostat Co., [1920s]. Staplebound. Cream illustrate wraps. Very good. 8 pages, 21.5 x 14 cm. "Don't Spend Your Time in the Kitchen", this advertising booklet exclaims, "Let the AutomatiCook Do the Cooking". The AutomatiCook was an early device that allowed for temperature control of the oven when cooking-- a huge transformation in the way meals were prepared. Inside of this recipe book are charts and lists describing cooking times and temperatures for common foods, eliminating the combination of guesswork and skill that had previously been a large component of cooking, and giving way to the scientific cookery movement. Interior crisp and clean, wraps lightly soiled and rubbed.
