Light tanning and scattered foxing. Scarce royalist account of military operations in Peru during the early 1820s, during which time colonial forces under Viceroy José de la Serna recaptured much of Peru before their ultimate defeat by Bolivar and Sucre at Ayacucho. The author, Andres Garcia Camba, was a brigadier general in the colonial army, and ultimately became Captain General of the Philippines during the 1830s. This account follows the royalist campaign until the recapture of Lima in late 1823, and gives the final positions of the armies in early 1824 when the colonial army was ascendant.
