Endpapers lightly foxed, ink gift note on front endpaper dated February 14, 1953, jacket price clipped, jacket lightly foxed with shallow 1/2 inch chip from top edge. 1952 Hard Cover. 247 pp. Red patterned paper over boards, black titles with nebula decoration on front board, Edd Cartier jacket art. The second in the famous trilogy comprising Foundation, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation, which won the one-time Hugo Award for 'Best All-Times Series' in 1966. Covering nearly four centuries in the history of the Foundation, this classic trilogy is one of the most well known works of Isaac Asimov, arguably the most prolific writer of our time. Many of Asimov's works have been adapted into films, most recently I, Robot, starring Will Smith, which featured the Three Laws of Robotics invented by Asimov.
