Owner's stamp on front wrapper. First Edition. An illustrated report on the History of Medicine exhibit at the 1900 Paris Exposition, highlighting the contributions of notable French-speaking physicians and surgeons to the development of modern medicine. Many of the illustrations in the report were from the collection of the report's author, Dr. Théodore Tuffier, a pioneer of pulmonary and cardiovascular surgery and of spinal anesthesia (see Garrison-Morton.com 3029, 3191, 3228, 4191.1). Remarkable surgical instruments from the 15th and 16th century are illustrated. .
