A very fine copy with dust jacket. The previously unpublished journal of Work's expedition to the Snake Country under the sponsorship of the Hudson's Bay Company, which lasted 11 months and covered nearly 2,000 miles. The journal records the Indians encountered, describes the terrain and wildlife, etc. The appendix lists the expedition's personnel and provides a copy of Peter Skene Ogden's letter of advice, written to Work. .
