An illustrated leaflet promoting subscriptions to the serial "The Christian Endeavor World", multiples of which can be exchanged for the games advertised in the leaflet. The parlor games, advertised as ideal games for "long winter evenings", include the following: "Golfette" (a golf-like game involving inflated balloons); "Amazon Blow Gun" (a shooting/target game); "Parlor Football" (a tabletop ball game); and "Crown Combination" (a board game reminiscent of billiards). A great example of how serials would promote subscriptions via prizes or mail order goods. Measures approx. 3.5" by 6" folded, 7" by 12" unfolded, with images of the games being played.

Lower corners lightly bumped, else a fine copy with dust jacket. Dust jacket rubbed at extremities and with a darkened spine. One of the best on this California outlaw. History of this noted California outlaw, followed by the complete reprint (page 63 to end) of the book about Vasquez by George A. Beers, first published in 1875. At the time, Beers was a reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle and a member of the posse hunting Vásquez. The original account by Beers is very rare.
