The series followed Paul Bryan, who, after being told he has only months left to live, embarks on a series of adventures to make the most out of his remaining time alive. In this episode, Bryan searches for a mysterious nun, and is thereby dragged into a murder mystery linked to the Mafia. Robert Bloch is best known for penning Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho" (1959), although his six-decade writing career encompassed novels, short stories, radio, cinema, and television. A protégé of H.P. Lovecraft, Bloch received the Hugo Award, the Bram Stoker Award, and the World Fantasy Award, and served as the president of the Mystery Writers of America in 1970. Self wrappers. Printed poster advertising upcoming puppet and marionette performances at the Bookshop for Boys and Girls in Boston, run by the Women's Educational and Industrial Union. Includes beloved characters of the time (Aladdin, Little Black Sambo, Sally Gabble, etc.) and includes an interactive aspect to one of the performances: "Only the famous puppet Pinocchio is debarred [from the performance]. Will he slip past the guards and get his NOSE into things? TRAP set at every entrance". Broadside (19" by 6.25") printed in magenta ink on yellow paper. Includes illustration of marionette at head. The Women's Educational and Industrial Union was founded in 1877 by English physician Dr. Harriet Clisby (1830-1931) in response to a sudden influx of immigrants to Boston. The Union's goal was to help women and mothers support themselves and their families, offering training through programs and businesses including the Bookshop for Boys and Girls.

Wiilliams writes in his reviser's note that he aimed to revise this little volume leaving untouched, so far as possible, Bacon's compilation, omitting only such portions as were inaccurate or obsolete, and addingrather sparingly from the narratives of a few recent travellers. The book starts with a chapter on early intercourse with Siam, followed by its geography, history, modern Siam, and descriptions of various cities and areas, Siamese life and customs, and ending with a chapter titled Bangkok and the New Siam. There are 25 black and white illustrations of everything from Siamese women, elephants in a Park at Ayuthia, to monkeys playing with a crocodile. Bound in brown cloth with gilt titling to spine. Cloth has a few light stains and signs of handling. Endpapers and text pages are clean and bright. In very good condition. Measures 7.5 x 5.25 inches. 296 pages. ASIANHIST/082925.
