A great association copy signed by Richard Brautigan on the front free endpaper and inscribed to his girlfriend turned friend Valerie Estes, "This copy is for Valerie Estes. Richard Brautigan January 13, 1972." [ii], 174 pp. Bound in publisher's green cloth stamped in silver. Near Fine with light wear to corners and spine ends. In a Near Fine unclipped dust jacket with light toning and wear, paper clip indentation to lower edge of rear panel. A lovely copy of the Brautigan's collection of surreal short stories inscribed to his girlfriend, Valerie Estes, an active participant in the San Francisco literary scene. She graced the cover of his spoken-word record Listening to Richard Brautigan,1969. The two remained good friends until the author's suicide in 1984.
