Directed and designed by Living Theatre co-founders Judith Malina Julian Beck, the show also featured jazz music by The Freddie Redd Quartet. The Connection earned three Obie Awards in its first year - Best New Play, Best All-Around Production, and Best Actor. It is considered to be The Living Theatre's first great success. In 1961, it was adapted by the experimental filmmaker Shirley Clark. As of March 2026, we locate no separately cataloged examples in OCLC.
