Two (2) programs promoting a combination lecture and recital by Paul Nordoff in 1937, focusing on the history of Jazz and modern music. Hosted by "The Friends and Enemies of Modern Music, Inc." Paul Nordoff (1909-1977) was a composer best known for pioneering the Nordoff-Robbins approach to music therapy, which was developed in the 1950s to help children with psychological or physical disabilities. The composers represented in Nordoff's performance include Debussy, Milhaud, Ravel, Grosz, Hindemith, Copland, Carpenter, Gershwin, and Nordoff. Both programs measure approx. 11" by 8.5". The second is a folding program, and also advertises a recital the next day by Mme. Alice Ehlers on harpsichord.
